I would have posted sooner, but this is the first time I've had reasonable access to the internet in several days.
Anyway, not to belabor the subject, since we did spend some time twittering already, I thought the last game was absolutely a blast. Despite some holdups (entirely my ungracious fault) we were able to really have an explosive game. Like I said to Brent, I see no reason why they can't all be good; I will continue to strive to provide a fertile ground for this.
I think I went through everything I had scheduled for the last game, so I'm thinking the next one will be properly climactic. Surprisingly, there isn't much homework for the next game, which makes Brent's workload easier I suppose. But, that leaves us to discuss how the game is going to end next week. Does anyone have any strong feelings about how they want things to turn out? I already have a flowchart worked up, and a scenario that I have in mind, but I don't like to be the kind of GM who thinks his ideas are better than anyone else's. Be assured, I'll be examining all the characters' BITs, but I thought the season finale warranted some extra discussion.
Also, I would like to welcome Jenna to the inner circle of active contributors here on the blog. Cheers! You may have started posting right before the last game of the semester, but that just gives you extra integrity.

Well, I've got some ideas that would set up a second adventure-arc, but I almost don't want to discuss them here because it will spoil the surprise. 'Cause they are DRAMATIC.
Aw, man! I'm the GM! XD Don't leave me in the cold.
I'll tell you about it Paul! I'm privy to the secrets!
Allright, you guys, this is how it is: Leaving the GM out of the loop is not cool. I don't even know if I can forgive you.
XD
I thought I could manaeuver it without DM help, but I can't. I was going to be a totally awesome twist if I could have, though! What I was wanting to wrangle was that the Duchess WOULD return to the Prince but would, unbeknownst to the Green Men, marry the Prince so SHE would be in power when they killed him. But it would only work if the King were to pass on, making her the Queen ('cause Princesses don't got no power). Also, it might just be too damn machiavellian for her character.
So?
Ho ho ho! I appreciate that you were keeping it to yourself in the interests of making the surprise more gleesome for everyone, but it would be hard to pull off when the plan is contingent on the King dying, etc. It really would be the most awesome shocking twist in the world. XD I think my absolute favorite part is that she'd do it without the consent of the Green Men. How really excruciatingly tragic would it be if she realized she loved Jack and married the Prince anyway? And when Jack finds out? That is so much drama I may just swoon.
I'm not totally sure how it would fit in with her character, but honestly I'm not 100% sure about her character to begin with. And, you know, I'm not sure if she is either. She's lived so long suffocated under the confines of another's rule, I would believe that there are sides of her unknown even to herself. What would she discover that would make her willing to place herself in the grandest and most inescapable cage of all: royalty? Maybe the way to justify it will be involved with events yet to occur in the game. What is there that could happen that would place the Duchess in a mental state capable of such a deed? The starkest part of it (for me) is that for her plan to work the Prince must be murdered in cold blood.
Well, guys, the way this is going, I don't see this game having a very happy ending. :D
Anyway, if you wanted more than a lot of puffed up conjecture, let me say that for me the plan is very yes. If you still like it by the time the Duchess has the opportunity to act it out, just let me know what you need from me.
